- Hang Manager or 'HANGMAN' is an essential utility for all Citrix, Windows NT 4 and Windows 2000 servers with Terminal Services in use.
- While running Terminal Services, a user may start a process that significantly or totally ties up the server's CPU. This will cause all users to experience a major slowdown in performance or HANG. To resolve this an administrator must usually manually locate the process and kill it. This is time consumming and frustrating for all users, especially if it occurs after hours and an administrator is not immediately on hand.
- Hang Manager continuously monitors CPU load and concurrent instance count, and will kill out of control user processes/instances and/or generate alerts.
- Hang Manager is completely configurable (per user and per service), providing users notification of impending shut down while optionally allowing them time to take appropriate action.
